Limerick GAA Training Centre

The new Limerick GAA Training Centre is located on a site of c40 hectares at Prospect Hall, Crecora, County Limerick. The development by Limerick GAA comprises a state-of-the art training venue for county level squads tailored to the needs of all Gaelic Games codes across both genders, from child to adult level. The project will represent a very significant addition to active recreational sports infrastructure in Limerick and it will enable the continued growth of Gaelic Games across Limerick City & County. The project includes a range of pitches to cater for all GAA field sports, both indoor and outdoor, natural grass and all-weather synthetic; community focused outdoor facilities including walking/jogging paths and a pavilion building providing administrative, dining, fitness, training, gym, sports medical areas together with a multi-purpose hall and auditorium.

Role

TCR Ltd. is planning advisor to the client, project engineer and design team. This has entailed :
• providing strategic planning guidance on how best to achieve the clients’ and project engineer’s vision for the site.
• Dianne McDonogh has led all planning aspects of the proposal, including management of pre-planning consultations with the Planning Authority, key stakeholders and statutory consultees; co-ordination and preparation of the planning application documents through to issue of a Notification of Decision to Grant Permission by Limerick City & County Council.

Planning Outcome

Limerick City & County Council issued a Final Grant of Permission on this application in February 2026.
